Clipping machines
Clipping machines are used to close bags and packages using a metal clip. This packaging system is particularly widespread in the food sector, where it is necessary to quickly close bags containing bakery and confectionery products.

LMC srl develops clipping machines designed to ensure speed, reliability and ease of use in packaging lines.
Where are clipping machines used?
The clip closure system is widely used for packaging products that require a simple and easily reclosable closure after first use.
This method allows to preserve the product even after opening the package, enabling the consumer to reseal it multiple times.
Clipping machines are mainly used in the bakery and confectionery sector.
- sliced bread
- toast bread
- bread pieces
- breadsticks
- brioche
- individual sweets
- candies
- chocolates
The clip system is also used for some deli products such as cured meats and cheeses, as well as for various non-food applications.
How the clip fastening works
Clipping machines close the package by applying a clip to one end of the bag containing the product.
The clip is generally made of two coated metal wires in plastic or aluminum that are compressed around the bag, ensuring a stable closure.
This system allows the package to be easily opened and resealed after first use, keeping the product protected.
Manual and automatic clipping machines
Clipping machines can be used in different configurations depending on the level of automation required by the production line.
- manual clipping machines, suitable for small-scale production
- automatic clipping machines, integrated into industrial packaging lines
The machine configuration is defined based on the type of product, the type of bag used and the speed of the production line.
Integration during the final stage of packaging
Clipping machines are generally installed at the final stage of the production line, where the product has already been placed in the bag and must be closed quickly and securely.
The metal clip allows the bag to be sealed in a few moments, enabling the line to maintain consistent productivity and facilitating the subsequent handling of the packages.
Depending on the type of packaging required, this system can be used as an alternative or complement to other packaging technologies. For example, flow pack packaging machines are used when fully sealed bags are required, while twist packaging machines are used when the closure is achieved by twisting the film.
