Twist packaging machines
Twist packaging machines are machines used for packaging food products through film twist closure.
This system is particularly widespread in the food sector because it allows practical packaging to be achieved, easily reclosable and suitable for the distribution of baked goods, confectionery and individually packaged food products.
LMC srl twist machines are designed to operate reliably in production lines, ensuring packaging speed and process stability.
Why choose Twist packaging?
Twist packaging is a widely used solution in food packaging when an airtight closure is not required, but a package that is easy to open and reseal is preferred.
The twist closure allows the product to remain protected while also enabling multiple openings of the package by the end user.
- Fast and continuous packaging
- Easy-to-open and resealable package
- Ideal for baked goods and confectionery products
- Good package stability during transport
- Easy integration into production lines
How Twist packaging works
In the twist system, the product is inserted into a plastic film bag that has been previously formed and sealed.
One end of the package is then closed by twisting the film and secured with a metal wire, creating the typical closure used in the packaging of bread, baked goods and confectionery products.
This system ensures a stable closure and allows the package to be easily opened and resealed after first use.
Products packaged using the Twist system
Twist packaging machines are mainly used in the food sector for packaging products that do not require an airtight seal.
Among the most common products we find:
- sliced bread
- toast bread
- bread pieces
- breadsticks
- brioche
- individual sweets
- candies
- chocolates
This packaging method is also used for certain types of cured meats and cheeses, as well as for various non-food products when a simple closure of the package is sufficient.
Integration into packaging lines
Twist packaging machines can be integrated into production lines with product feeding and conveying systems.
In some applications they are used together with other packaging technologies, such as flow pack packaging machines for sealed bags or clipping machines for closing food bags.
The machine configuration is defined based on:
- product size and type
- type of film used
- speed required by the packaging line
